Wind ruffled the grass in the field that Germany and Italy laid in, and the sky was lit up with the bright patterns of stars.

"Germany?" Italy asked, gazing up at the night sky. "What's it like in heaven?"

"How am I supposed to know?" Germany answered. "I've never been there."

"Oh, right. Well, what do you think it's like there?"

"Well, it's perfect, right? So it must be pretty."

"Sort of like the sky? Pretty like that?"

"Yeah, like that, I suppose." Germany gazed up at the sky. "I bet it is like that. And they probably have amazing food too."

"Amazing food..." Italy's gaze shifted from the sky to the steaming bowl of pasta next to him. Like this pasta, he thought.

The wind picked up, causing Italy to shiver and snuggle up to Germany. Germany nearly protested, but thought better of it and didn't. It's really not that bad, he thought. I guess I don't really mind; he is pretty warm...

"Tell me more about heaven," Italy sighed dreamily.

"Well, it's filled with nice people," Germany continued as he gently stroked Italy's hair. Like you, he added to himself.

"Ah, like big brother, and Japan! Um, Germany? Are there super nice people there?"

"Yeah, I suppose so. Who's super nice?"

"How can you not know? You! You're super nice!"

Germany blushed as Italy grinned.

"Ok then. And you're with the people you love. Like with that one special person, you know?"

"Special person..." Italy looked up at the blonde man snuggling with him. He's special to me, he thought. "Hey Germany?"

"What is it, Italy?"

"Are we in heaven?"
